Dr. Rachel Engard
Dr. Rachel Engard, DVM, is an Emergency Veterinarian at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson.
Dr. Rachel Engard grew up in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Moving towards the center part of the state for her undergrad degree she graduated with a bachelor's in animal sciences from Penn State University! She is a proud Nittany Lion!
Following undergrad, Dr. Engard moved to sunny Arizona where she attended Midwestern University Veterinary School as a member of their inaugural veterinary class. She served as senior class president and received an award for her dedication to patient-centered care. After graduating veterinary school she moved down to Tucson with her husband, her little shih tzu mix Squirtle and her dwarf holland lop rabbit named Pipp.
She spent the first part of her career in general practice seeing primary care and urgent care cases. Wanting to be there for pet owners when they need a veterinarian most, Dr. Engard decided to pursue emergency medicine with the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson. She is excited to be a part of the team!
In her off time Dr. Engard enjoys cooking, baking, marathons (of the Netflix variety) and exploring all the beauty Tucson has to offer!
