Alexis Kersting, DVM, is an Emergency Veterinarian at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson.
Dr. Kersting is an Arizona native having grown up in the greater Phoenix area. Her favorite pass time is barrel racing and trail riding her American Curly horse.
She obtained a Bachelor's in Science from the University of Arizona in Veterinary Science. During this time she worked as a veterinary assistant at local practices as well as a mobile vaccination clinic.
She then attended Midwestern University for a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. While at Midwestern University she was part of the veterinary business management association, student chapter of the veterinary medical association, student ambassador and the diagnostic imaging club.
Dr. Kersting lead and participated in several large scale trap, neuter, release (TNR) events through the school to help control the feral cat population while practicing leadership and surgical skills.
After graduation, she completed a one-year internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson prior to being hired as a full-time emergency doctor. Dr. Kersting still finds diagnostic imaging fascinating and continues to spend her free time continuing her education in the subject.
