Polina Vishkautsan, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM, is a board-certified internal medicine specialist at Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson.
Dr. Polina Vishkautsan obtained her DVM degree in 2001 from the Koret Veterinary School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She moved to the United States to pursue specialized veterinary education.
After an internship in an emergency and specialty clinic in Wisconsin, she completed a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine in Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston.
For the following 7 years she worked in several emergency and specialty practices in Arizona and California. From 2014 to 2016 she pursued a two year Fellowship in Small Animal Infectious Diseases under the mentorship of Dr. Jane Sykes, at the University of California, Davis, Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
During her fellowship, Dr. Vishkautsan, subspecialized in treating complex, both common and rare infectious diseases of dogs and cats and completed a research project on use of anti-fungal drugs in cats.
In her spare time Polina enjoys travelling the world pursuing exotic locals for bird photography with her partner Henry. When she is at home, she loves hiking at the Sonora Desert and exploring the hidden gems of the beautiful state of Arizona.
